My name is Dan. I’ve lived in the Colony since 2001. My wife, Jennifer and I have lived in a Craftsman bungalow at 1007 West Broadway. In 2003, the bungalow (aka the Grange House) was granted the
Mills Act designation. Jim & Betty are the current owners and have proudly added the famous Anaheim Basement Pub. Also in 2003, we moved into our current residence on Helena St. - a 1954 custom ranch. Currently, our retro-ranch is bustling and active with our two children, Zachary and Zoe. A few months ago, our house (aka the Schutz House) became an inaugural member in the new Hoskins historic district, and received a Mills Act designation. We are extremely proud of this, and we love our home and our neighborhood dearly. This project is part of a class I am taking for my Master’s program at Chapman University. The exercise is intended to explore how a simple item with little value can ultimately lead to and item of significantly more value through a series of trades. However, I’ve added a few twists to the exercise that should be fun and interesting. Namely, the final item will be donated, and all trades are restricted to members of the Mother Colony e-mail group. Let’s have fun with this, and do some good in the process!
Thanks,
Dan
